A shocking incident unfolded today when a multi-story building suddenly collapsed down a hillside onto a busy street marketplace.
Eyewitnesses say the structure, perched precariously on the slope, began to tilt before crumbling under its own weight. Within seconds, the entire building slid downward, sending a massive cloud of dust and debris into the air.
At the base of the slope, fruit vendors and shoppers were caught in the chaos. Stalls loaded with oranges and other produce were abandoned as panicked vendors scrambled to save themselves. Some tried to pull their wooden carts out of harm’s way, while others fled on foot. A cow and several vehicles, including an auto-rickshaw parked nearby, were dangerously close to the falling debris.
Residents believe soil erosion and poor foundation work may have triggered the collapse, though authorities have not yet confirmed the cause. Emergency crews are expected to arrive on site to assess damage and search for possible victims trapped under the rubble.
The sudden disaster has left the local community in shock, raising urgent concerns about unsafe construction and the vulnerability of hillside buildings.
